Howard Stern Could Deliver Swing Voters to Kerry

"'Howard Stern is the most influential political talk-show host in America today,' said Michael Harrison, the editor of Talkers magazine. Stern is going after Bush with near-obsessive zeal... On the air, he spends more and more time urging his listeners to vote against Bush. 'I'm asking you to do me one favor: Vote against Bush,' he said on one recent program. 'I call on all fans of the show to vote against Bush,' he said on another. 'We're going to deliver the White House to John Kerry.'... Nationwide, 17% of likely voters listen to Stern's radio show, according to the poll released Thursday by the New Democrat Network (newdem.org). They favor Kerry over Bush by 53% to 43%, and by 59 to 37% in 18 battleground states... Of the likely voters who listen to Stern, 1 out of 4 is a swing voter who hasn't decided how to vote in November. That means that about 4% of the national swing vote up for grabs this fall listens to Stern, according to the poll. "

Libertarian Party Targets Sen. Max Cleland (D-GA) In 'Sneak Attack' Political Ploy

NewsMax.com is promoting a manipulation of voters targeted at Black Democrats in Georgia sponsored by the Libertarian Party. "I'm raising money from libertarians and conservatives across America, in order to pull off a political ploy that could help boot out a vulnerable liberal Democrat Senator, and take control away from the liberals that are now in charge." The plan is "to get a sizeable percentage of Black Democrats -- the ones most likely to vote -- to vote AGAINST the Democrat incumbent, and FOR the Libertarian candidate. These are voters that we don't stand a snowball's chance in Hades of convincing to ever vote for a Republican. But these are also voters who are passionate about one issue that Democrats are on the wrong side of: education choice, like vouchers and tuition tax credits... Democrat Sen. Max Cleland is the Libertarian Party's most targeted Democrat...We plan to attack him using other means as well, to pull Black Democrats away from his vote total."

AP reports, "Montana's Libertarian candidate for Senate has turned blue from drinking a silver solution that he believed would protect him from disease. Stan Jones, a 63-year-old business consultant and part-time college instructor, said he started taking colloidal silver in 1999 for fear that Y2K disruptions might lead to a shortage of antibiotics. He made his own concoction by electrically charging a couple of silver wires in a glass of water. His skin began turning blue-gray a year ago. 'People ask me if it's permanent and if I'm dead,' he said. 'I tell them I'm practicing for Halloween.' He does not take the supplement any longer, but the skin condition, called argyria, is permanent. The condition is generally not serious." Perhaps not - but a party could get a reputation...
