Every economic expert that is not a blatant Bush propagandist has said that the biggest impact the election will have on the stock market is certainty - whoever wins it will end uncertainty and the stock market hates uncertainty. But in an almost criminal (if not criminal) effort to scare people away from the polls at the last minute, Reuters is running a story that the stock market dropped because bloggers have predicted a Kerry win! Meanwhile, over at Bloomberg, they are running a phony story about how the dollar's latest drop (the latest of dozens in the past three years) is because Kerry might win! This is DESPICABLE. After the election, these news services should be investigated!

The world's leading financial experts DID NOT endorse Bush (The Economist, The Financial Times, etc.) because he has, among other things, helped drive the dollar's value downhill. But now, on election eve, we are supposed to believe that today's drop in the dollar is because Kerry might win? PUL-EEEEEEEZE! Hey Bloomberg! - No one is that stupid! Except maybe G.W.!

There is video footage, examined by experts and declared authentic to support the lapse. Weapons inspectors now report being denied a chance to secure the Al Qaqaa weapons cache. US soldiers report being told that guarding such sites was "not their job." Iraqis in the area report witnessing the looting of the site and seeing trucks being loaded with the materials. WE'RE TALING LIVES HERE - those explosives may already have killed some of our soldiers. Yet what does the LA Times, Washington Post, Ted Koppel, FOX, and other Bush-Pentagon minions do? They have participated in and promoted the Pentagon coverup of the event - with the only possible objective being to aid the reelection campaign of G.W. Bush. Go to Google News, Ask Jeeves, or Yahoo and you will see a pattern so obvious that one wonders just how stupid and clueless the media thinks Americans are! Every other political article headline reads variations on: "Bush, Kerry Trade Barbs," "Bush, Kerry Exchange Insults," etc. The scam? Lump Kerry in with Bush rather than give him real "equal time" coverage, while Bush automatically, as prez, gets plenty of "free" solo coverage ("Bush imports flu vaccines," etc.). This CNN article is typical - note how it leads in with Bush's slam of Kerry, then follows with Kerry, worded to make it seem as if it were KERRY, not Bush on the defensive ("Kerry countered with...etc."). This scam is a variation on what we call the "six of one, half dozen of the other" propaganda ploy - which tries to make Bush look better by implying everything in the two campaigns is somehow "equivalent."

When we heard that Kerry's rally in Madison, WI drew over 80,000 people, we wanted, naturally, to find a photo of this historic event. But when we went to Yahoo/AP news photos and clicked on the political photo selection, it looked like we'd stumbled into the Bush campaign's PR files! We had to hunt through dozens of Bush photos before - finally- on the third or fourth page of selections, we found this one of Kerry - a lousy shot with the crowd out of focus. This is inexcusable! Not even the pretense of an effort has been made to present a fair balance. As any reporter will tell you, a lead story on any topic is "dead in the water" without a photo. so, by making Kerry photos scarce, it insures there will be more Bush coverage simply because it's easier. Her "questions" were essentially regurgitations of Bush campaign/Rush Limbaugh accusations. Then Dick Cheney came on with the "last word" (of course), and was fed only questions he WANTED to answer, all directed against Kerry. Selected attack dog clips were spread liberally about the network. We were stunned by the blatancy of NBC News' (TV and online) pro-Bush spin this week. For example, having Lisa Myers run a dubious story claiming a former Guantanamo inmate is now suddenly a Taliban kingpin the SAME DAY the Bush administration lost a court case on the Guantanamo issue. Or running a slam of outspoken pro-Kerry actor Ben Affleck as headling story: "Is Ben Affleck's Career Beyond help?" We did a little poking and discovered that this week, the Bush administration handed GE a huge defense contract - $444.9 million to be exact. This is very good for GE - and very good for NBC, which is 80% owned by GE. But it's very bad for America, which deserves an honest media that places public welfare over corporate greed.

The Tribune Co., the third largest news mogul in the US, which owns the LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Newsday, and other papers, has since 2000 worked hard for G.W. Bush. So sure of the rewards they'd reap by such support, "The Tribune Co. bought Times Mirror with the expectation that the [Bush FCC] would reject the newspaper-television cross-ownership rule... In fact, the FCC did loosen the rules." (The tug-of-war between the public interest and the FCC goes on, however). The Tribune also got caught inflating circulation figures at Newsday and Spanish language publication Hoy so they could jack up their ad rates( just the tip of an ugly iceberg of similar manipulations in the media, we hear). Looks like the Trib is hoping for a new Bush bail out: the Chicago Tribune has endorsed Bush, while other papers in its chain continue to suppress Kerry and pump Bush.

As moderator, Schieffer will be responsible for formulating the debate questions and following up after the candidates respond. However, Schieffer has described in the past his 'golfing friendship' with President George W. Bush 'during the 1990s' and has said, 'It's always difficult to cover someone you know personally.' These and other past statements by Schieffer raise the question that Schieffer himself suggested: Can he perform the role of objective moderator given his 'difficult[y] cover[ing] someone you know personally'? Now Media Matter's Jim O'Brien reveals that Ann Coulter's book is also being given away for free on Newsmax and other sites. This means that Washington Times, Newsmax and other rightwing outlets are creating bogus "best sellers" by buying up these "literary efforts" (snicker) by the truckload, then giving them away. But try randomly asking anyone at a crowded mall if they've actually read any of these books - they answer is NO. However, ask if they've read Clinton or Michael Moore's books: many say yes. We have, since being alerted by readers to possible problems, been monitoring how the major search engines are "behaving" when it comes to liberal/Democratic blogs and writers.. We have discovered a VERY interesting trend: the closer we get to election, and the higher hits go (liberal blogs have been smashing records for numbers of hits and links), the FEWER number of google results - in fact have actually been shrinking! The opposite trend is found for FreeRepublic.com, which gets no more hits (probably fewer) than Democrats.com and Buzzflash: .while Democrats.com now gets just 45,000 or so results and Buzzflash.com 28,000, FreeRepublic shows nearly 400,000. Molly Ivins whose work enjoys a higher number of outlets than Ann Coulter (who has been dropped from many news outlets), show 96,000 results to Coulter's inflated 205,000. The same pattern is repeated over and over. CALL GOOGLE AND DEMAND AN END TO THEIR FRAUDULENT SYSTEM!

Rightwing slams of Kerry - You will find it very hard to find links to stories actually stating Kerry's position. The worst of all is Ask Jeeves. A completely fraudulent site comes up as the NUMBER TWO LINK KerryonIraq.com. These sleazoids have actually bought up a domain name that pretends to be a Kerry site, but in fact is a rightwing anti-Kerry site. We believe that this sort of suppression of information is consistutes FRAUD. It should be investigated and the search engines held accountable. Contact your legislators and these search engines.

MSNBC (NBC) has a HUGE stake in getting Bush reelected. So it is little wonder that MSNBC is planning to rig its coverage of the debates to favor Bush by using as their "analyst" Frank Luntz, a Republican who was once caught rigging polls, and whom, The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports, "advised Republicans to never talk about Iraq or homeland security without first mentioning how 9/11 changed everything." Media pollsters are feigning amazement over the current conflicting spread of poll results. But there is no REAL conflict here. The divergence did not come until the GOP convention. Obviously something happened then. The clue as to what that was lies in WHICH polls show Bush with a huge lead: ALL are mainstream media polls: USA Today, CNN, NY Times, Washington Post, ABC, etc. Polls less connected to the Bushie media show a pattern that is consistent with the entire campaign (Harris, Rasmussen, Zogby, et al.). This is not coincidence. We know for a fact that several of the media polls began manipulating their "weighting" system in a dishonest manner (non-media pollster John Zogby spotted Newsweek's scheme right away). The media publicize their own manipulated polls, not the traditional pollsters' results. Thus, they are using their skewed polls as "marketing devices" - selling Bush like their latest name brand coming out ahead in a rigged "national taste test."

For example, "Many news outlets and conservative publications have falsely reported that the documents' 'use of the superscripted letters 'th' in phrases such as 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron' raise suspicion because 1970s-era typewriters were incapable of producing such letters. In fact, journalist and weblogger Joshua Micah Marshall has pointed out that superscripted letters appear on other documents in Bush's military file that are known to be authentic. Moreover, IBM released a typewriter in the 1960s, the Selectric II, which was capable of producing superscript type." And that's just for starters!

Guess who the source of this "claim" is: L Brent Bozell III, via Cybercast News Service, a rightwing media service owned by Bozell. Bozell is a fanatical rightwing activist (backed for years by Richard Mellon Scaife) who serves on various "conservative think tanks" and as the head of the Conservative Victory Committee. He has dedicated himself for years to getting rightwing politicians elected to the federal government. No agenda here, eh?! One of Bozell's past campaigns: a drive to wipe out PBS.

John Zogby, one of the nation's most respected pollsters, was so mystified by Time and Newsweek polls showing Bush with a sudden 11-point lead, he checked into the methodology. Time wouldn't divulge theirs, but he checked out Newsweek's and found the reason for the "miraculous bounce": "Their sample of registered voters includes 38% Republican, 31% Democrat and 31% Independent voters. If we look at the three last Presidential elections, the spread was 34% Dem, 34% Repub and 33% Ind. (in 1992 with Ross Perot in the race); 39% Dems, 34% Repubs, and 27% Indies in 1996; and 39% Dems, 35% Repubs and 26% Indies in 2000." So add 3% for the "shaved off " Dems, and pare down the inflated Repug representation by 4% and suddenly, Bush's bounce drops to a modest 4 points - which has already faded according to tracking polls. Here's an example from CNN, reported by Media Matters: "To support his claim that New Hampshire 'could be bad [for Senator John Kerry] because they do know so much about him,' CNN Boston bureau chief Dan Lothian cited the opinion of just one New Hampshire voter: a delegate on the floor of the Republican National Convention." In short, the "survey" consisted of Wolf Blitzer asking RNC delegate Dan Lothian what he thought of Kerry's chances in NH. Lothian gave his highly biased opinion, and that became the "supporting survey" Blitzer used to predict Kerry might be "in trouble" in NH. In any case, more and more evidence of media fraud and manipulation is beginning to surface.

An 8/10 article in The Boston Globe stated Kerry made a clear distinction between giving the president the authority to take action and the actual invasion of Iraq. Lord Black...illegally took the money to fund lavish parties, expensive possessions and massive salaries for himself and his friends." It was also revealed that at least one media commentator was slurping up a lavish "expense account."
