Poll fraud

Last Minute Scramble by Pollsters to Bring Polls into Line with Reality
01-Nov-04
Poll fraud

Daily Kos writes: "Two weeks ago, Gallup had Bush with an 8-point lead. Today, in their final poll, they have it tied. I suppose the story should be "Big Kerry Mo'". But I no longer trust Gallup. I smell a CYA attempt to bring their numbers closer to what other pollsters are reporting... I don't buy Gallup's "likely voter" screen, and Bush isn't above 50 percent in any of these with registered voters. As for Gallup, it will have to account for itself after the election. Its polls trumpeted big Bush leads on CNN and USA Today headlines for months, even as other polls consistently showed a tight race. Even if their final "prediction" is more in line with the final results, they have been irresponsible this entire election cycle. We're not going to forget." Damn right! The ENTIRE corporate media and its pollster minions are gonna find themselves slapped with investigations and lawsuits.

Pollsters Spin Off Past Phony Polls, Claim Bush Lost 8-14 Points 'Overnight'
01-Nov-04
Poll fraud

News24: "George W Bush saw his solid footing on Iraq and the war on terrorism erode just a day ahead of the November 2 election, as a stunning new poll out on Monday showed his support in those areas had plummeted." This, of course, is the spin that the pollsters are giving out as they try to explain away their months of phony Bush-pumping results. We are supposed to believe, in essence, that he lost the election through a 24-hour-long downward spiral? Yeah, right! The truth is, the phony poll strategy didn't work, and now that the early voting results are showing this to be the case, the pollsters, knowing they will have some serious explaining to do, are trying to cover their sorry butts.

Overrule the Pro-Bush Polls - Wear and Show Anti-Bush, Pro-Kerry Items
18-Oct-04
Poll fraud

MikeHersh.com: "Before the debates, the polls showed Kerry 5 points or more behind. After Bush's horrendous debate performances, the polls told us the race was tied. Now they're saying Bush is pulling away. We know this isn't true, because Gallup and other polls over-count Republicans in their surveys. Unless we show our support openly, people will assume the polls are accurate. We have to wear shirts and buttons, show stickers and other emblems of our support for Kerry to make sure people know Kerry is the real choice for most Americans. If we sit back silently, the fake polls will give the Republicans cover to steal our election again. What can you do about it? Become a walking public opinion poll by buying and wearing and showing anti-Bush and pro-Kerry items."

MSNBC Online Poll Highlights its Own Poll Fraud
18-Oct-04
Poll fraud

Check out the difference between this online MSNBC poll, which shows Kerry pummeling Bush on every question, and the results the network (owned 80% by Pentagon-pork-recipient GE) obtained using its systematic "numbers fudging" scheme (MSNBC/Newsweek). Of course it's euphemism for "phony poll" is "scientific poll," while its euphemism for "unmanipulated poll" is "unscientific poll." Its scientific poll results are cherry picked and weighted until they can show Bush either ahead or in a dead heat. But c'mon! How can you possibly explain a gap of over 50 points on some questions? Who do they think they're kdding? But not to worry - an after-election investigation is likely to reveal the whole ugly iceberg.

Panicked Corporate Media Pulls out Poll Fraud Stops
18-Oct-04
Poll fraud

Here's how it works, folks: The corporate media = advertising.. Advertising = corporations. Corporations = Bush supporters. So far, the corporate media has run one long, continuous "infomercial" for G.W. Bush. Insiders say corporate advertising has increased during the election - some say "understandings" between advertisers and the media have been reached: ie, the higher the ad bucks, the more pro-Bush the media. We call it FRAUD. Now the media KNOWS Kerry is pulling ahead - he's picked up dozens of major newspaper endorsements, while non-media polls show the race tied. In desperation, the media's pulling out the poll fraud stops to show a phony Bush lead. Why? To keep those corporate dollars coming in - gotta prove value for money, eh? A push is now being spearheaded to investigate the corporate media's role in this year's election, regardless of the outcome.

Survey of 'Military and Families' Clearly Bogus and Designed to Hide the Truth
16-Oct-04
Poll fraud

One look at this survey and you just KNOW the results have been fudged. First, you find a whopping 62% of respondants say that Bush has failed to send enough troops to Iraq - the number one factor that has led to the present crisis. The poll also found that 42% said the National Guard and Reserve troops were not properly trained for Iraq [only 38% said they were]. 51% to 8% said they opposed the Bush administration's decision to prevent the media from photographing the flag-draped coffins of men and women killed in Iraq." Yet we are then supposed to believe that 63% these same people also "approve" of the way Bush is handling the war and 64% believe the war was worth it? C'mon! No one believes people in the military are this stupid or confused! What we hear from REAL SOLDIERS is that their NUMBER ONE frustration is that the US public is not hearing the truth. This poll adds just one more nail in truth's coffin.

Is FOX News Channel Using GOP Push-Polling Firm for 'Fair and Balanced' Polling?
04-Oct-04
Poll fraud

Jim Bryant: "I was looking at a link to a ludicrous article at the FOX News Channel web site, and it had a link to their 'Is FOX Fair and Balanced' poll. Out of curiosity I clicked. This took me to http://www.pollingpoint.com/ where I proceeded to take the poll. After the poll, I then was directed to their main page, and took four other polls, all of which seem to be GOP push-polls. I want your opinion. I am instituting a poll here at Democrats.com for people to determine if pollingpoint.com are themselves 'fair and balanced'. Please take their polls, note the questions, and the allowable answers. Then come take our poll on their polls!" Keep in mind the outrage against CBS for telling the truth about Bush. Shouldn't FOX lose all credibility - and their broadcast licenses - if they're essentially a PAC collaborating with the GOP to deceive voters?

Mainstream Media - Led by the 'PentaPress' - Cranks out Phony Polls to Try to Deflect Growing Tide for Kerry
03-Oct-04
Poll fraud

'Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive,.' as Shakespeare observed. Once you tell one lie, ya gotta tell more to support it...then more to support the supporting lies...till before you know it, you have tied yourself in a great big fat knot. That's what's happened to the corporate media! Like Newsweek - which is owned by the Washington Post, which is "owned" by the Pentagon - their post debate poll showed that 61% said Kerry won, while just 19% said Bush won! Why did Kerry win? THE ISSUES. But now Newsweek has cranked out a completely contradictory new poll to support its previous polls that give Bush a bogus advantage. Well, yeah, says this new poll, Kerry won by a whopping margin on the issues, but, er...the public actually supports Bush more on the issues.....What a pack of frauds! Call Newsweek and tell these anti-American creeps what you think! http://www.fair.org/media-contact-list.html#Magazines

Frauds Like Gallup Having a Hard Time Reconciling Bogus National Results with State by State REALITY
29-Sep-04
Poll fraud

Ruy Teixeira asks: "How can Gallup......have Bush up by 13 nationwide, when he's only up by 2 points among Florida RVs?--and according to their own poll? How can Gallup.....have Bush up by 13 nationwide, when he's only up by 2 points among Nevada RVs?--again, according to their own poll? How can Gallup....have Bush up by 13 nationwide, when he's only up by 3 points in Ohio, according to Fox News? How can Gallup....have Bush up by 13 nationwide, when he trailing by 5 points in Pennsylvania and 2 points in Michigan, according to Fox News? How can Gallup.....have Bush up by 13 nationwide, when he's only leading in Montana by 18 points? (in 2000, Bush won Montana by 25 points) How can Gallup.....have Bush up by 13 nationwide, when he's behind Kerry by 15 points in California and 20 points in New York?" Easy, Ruy: Gallup is one of the polling outfits colluding with the media to commit fraud on America.

POLL FRAUD: No Mainstream Political Poll Includes a Single Cell Phone User!
16-Sep-04
Poll fraud

Jimmy Breslin: "Anybody who believes these national political polls are giving you facts is a gullible fool. Any editors of newspapers or television news shows who use poll results as a story are beyond gullible. On behalf of the public they profess to serve, they are indolent salesmen of falsehoods. This is because these political polls are done by telephone. Land-line telephones, as your house phone is called. The telephone polls do not include cellular phones. There are almost 169 million cell phones being used in America today ...Not one cell phone user has received a call on their cell phone asking them how they plan to vote as of today." But college surveys show that an overwhelming majority of the nations tens of millions of 18-24 year olds support John Kerry. And guess what group most heavily relies on cell phones? The 18-24 year olds! How convenient for the Bushie media that these are the very people undercounted in polls!

GOP Urges Newspaper to Fire Poll Director When Results Aren't Pro-Bush!
14-Sep-04
Poll fraud

Can you believe this!? For months, AP, the Post, MSNBC, et al, have engaged in outrageous poll manipulation and disseminating stories with their polls that spin away any bad Bush news. Now when a newspaper in Minnesota is found to possibly favor Democrats in its polls and commentary, the GOP is howling and frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog and wants the Star Tribune poll director all but drawn and quartered!

Assault on America's Honor: Are the New Manipulations in Polls Part of a Master Plan to Steal the Election?
09-Sep-04
Poll fraud

As Kerry pulled ahead in the polls, the Bush campaign and its media minions did more than launch a relentless lie-and-smear campaign against Kerry. They organized an all-out assault on poll ethics. Check out this outrageous array of poll results that range from a slight lead for Kerry (FOX's poll results for "registered" voters) to the outrageous double-digit leads foisted off by Newsweek, CNN'Gallup, et al. Notice also the gross internal disparities in the polls. What happened? The "methodology" was tampered with. Why? Two things - both blots on America's honor: 1. The inflated poll results are being used to "legitimize" rigged results at the polls on Nov 2 (ie, to make a Bush win look less suspicious) and 2. A tactic for offsetting the flood of negative Bush news (Kitty Kelly, Ben Barnes, 1,000 dead, etc.) and making Bush appear "invincible". But truth has a way of coming out...and the guilty will, we promise, be exposed and prosecuted.

More Polling Manipulations: Gallup Systematically Overrepresents Republicans
09-Sep-04
Poll fraud

Professor Alan Abramowitz of Emory University, one of the leading academic analysts of American politics says: "The latest Gallup Poll has Bush ahead of Kerry by 52-45% among likely voters but by only 49-48% among registered voters. Based on the numbers of registered and likely voters in their sample, this means that Gallup is projecting that 89% of Bush supporters will vote but only 79% of Kerry supporters will vote. That is way out of line with data from the American National Election Studies on turnout among registered Dems and Republicans in recent elections. For the past three presidential elections, the turnout gap between Republicans and Democrats has averaged 3% and was never larger than 4%." Why is Gallup lying to help Bush?

More Polling Manipulation Revealed! Bogus 'Likely' versus 'Registered' Voters Formula
08-Sep-04
Poll fraud

In 2000, in the actual election results, the breakdown of registered voters was : 39% Democrats, 35% Republicans and 26% independent. I.e., these were the actual voters, as in not only likely to vote, but DID. So how do the corporate pollsters get away with their new "formulas" for "adjusting" poll results in which the number of "likely" voters is adjusted DOWN by several points for Democrats?! In this roster of the latest polls, CNN/USA Today/Gallup and ICR Communications Research both use this outrageous manipulation to add points to Bush, while Newsweek fails to report that it uses a "padding" strategy (Zogby had to call for the info: http://zogby.com/news/ReadNews859.html). Didn't there used to be an American Polling Ethics Board? Or did that get disbanded when Bush got elected?

Newsweek/MSNBC Poll is Half-Fraud, Half- Joke, 100% Ripoff
08-Sep-04
Poll fraud

We wonder who in the upper echelon of the Newsweek/MSNBC empire was promised a big payoff from the Bush administration. Because their current pro-Bush polling is not only near-fraudulent (the outrageous manipulative methodology was exposed by Zogby), it isn't even internally consistent. Check out this comparison between the carefully controlled and manipulated results obtained by Newsweek, versus an open, online version of the same poll by MSNBC, which tells a glaringly different story. Btw- Bush-vs. Kerry polls running on MSNBC right up to Sept 1 showed Kerry leading 57%-44% - interesting how their "controlled poll" reversed those figures!

Gallup: Bush Got NO Bounce - Newsweek and Time's Polls WERE Bogus!
07-Sep-04
Poll fraud

Donkey Rising: "I think those of us who have expressed skepticism about the results of the Time and Newsweek polls can consider ourselves vindicated. The new Gallup poll, conducted entirely after the GOP convention and therefore the first poll that truly measures Bush's bounce [and Gallup tends to skew toward Bush, mind you], shows Bush with a very modest bounce indeed: 2 points, whether you look at RVs or LVs [registered voters or likely voters]. His support among RVs has risen from 47 percent before to 49 percent after the convention, so that he now leads Kerry by a single point (49-48) rather than trailing by a point. But that's it. Contrast Bush's 49-48 lead among RVs in this poll to Time's 50-42 Bush lead and, especially, Newsweek's 54-43 Bush lead in the same matchup. Quite a difference." See for Zogby's unmasking of the manipulation used by Newsweek to obtain their near-fraudulent result: zogby.com/news/ReadNews859.html

CBS, NBC, FOX, and Limbaugh All Using Poll Fraud Frank Luntz as their 'Election Polling Expert'
07-Sep-04
Poll fraud

Thru the GOP Convention, now on the nightly news, Frank Luntz is repeatedly being used as an election campaign polling "expert." but Luntz is in fact a rightwing corporazi affliated with more than one aggressively anti-liberal organization. Media Matters reports that Luntz was "reprimanded in 1997 by the American Association for Public Opinion Research, [which] promotes standards of professional conduct and ethics for surveys and public opinion research for his work polling for the Republican Party's 1994 'Contract with America' campaign platform. According to Salon, "Luntz told the media that everything in the contract had the support of at least 60% of the general public," but when a member of the AAPOR "filed a complaint requesting to see Luntz's research and a verification of the figure," Luntz refused, citing "client confidentiality." According to David W. Moore, author of the book The Super Pollsters, Luntz's work is little more than "propaganda" disguised as research."
