Bill O'Reilly

O'Reilly Pays MILLIONS To Silence Mackris
01-Nov-04
Bill O'Reilly

"Sources told the Daily News that O'Reilly will have to pay Andrea Mackris at least $2 million - and possibly as much as $10 million. Under the deal, Mackris will drop the sexual harassment suit she filed against the talk-show host and Fox. O'Reilly and his Fox bosses, in turn, will forget about the extortion suit they filed against Mackris and her lawyer. 'On a personal note, this matter has caused enormous pain, but I had to protect my family [which one, Bill?] and I did,' O'Reilly said on Thursday's edition of 'The O'Reilly Factor. 'This brutal ordeal is now officially over and I will never speak of it again,' he added. The terms of the agreement - which came two weeks after the scandal exploded - were confidential. But Mackris' court filing - accusing her famous boss of pelting her with sleazy phone calls, pestering her for kinky sex and boasting of his sexual prowess - already has been laid out in explicit detail. "

The Colossal Hypocrisy of Bill O'Reilly - IN HIS OWN WORDS
26-Oct-04
Bill O'Reilly

The most disgusting thing about O'Reilly is his colossal hypocrisy - here's a man who has for years self-righteously slimed other men (Bill Clinton esp.) for their sexual peccadillos, yet suggests sexual harassment is just a tool used by women to "get ahead." "I think that the sexual harassment thing is used as a club, as I said, by many women, all right. It's something they have against men, a threat to keep men at bay in a very competitive marketplace." And, while O'Reilly refuses to resign, "When Ohio TV anchor Catherine Bosley resigned after photos of her participating in a wet t-shirt contest were posted on the internet," [without her knowledge], O'Reilly thought she should be let go: "The station has an obligation to put on people who are going to bolster their news image. This woman, in a community like that particularly, but in -- I think in any city in the USA, becomes a joke.."

The O'Sexxxy Factor
20-Oct-04
Bill O'Reilly

"So Bill got slapped with a sexual harassment lawsuit, and his performance today on the Factor and earlier on Regis' show indicate he's resigned himself to well, resigning. It seems O'Reilly knows he's toast, and it's just a matter of time. But none of this should be surprising to Factor viewers, he's telegraphed his sordid sexual desires for years on his show, all you had to do was watch. To commemorate the beginning of the end of Mr. O'Reilly's career, here's my 5 minute video, The O'Sexxxy Factor. Quicktime (8MB) or Windows Media (12 MB) It's great. You'll love it, but it's definitely not safe for work."

O'Reilly Hit With Sexual Harassment Suit
14-Oct-04
Bill O'Reilly

From The Smoking Gun: "Hours after Bill O'Reilly accused her of a multimillion dollar shakedown attempt, a female Fox News producer fired back at the TV star today, filing a lawsuit claiming that he subjected her to repeated instances of sexual harassment and spoke often, and explicitly, to her about phone sex, vibrators, threesomes, masturbation, the loss of his virginity, and sexual fantasies. Below you'll find a copy of Andrea Mackris's complaint, an incredible page-turner that quotes O'Reilly, 55, on all sorts of lewd matters. Based on the extensive quotations cited in the complaint, it appears a safe bet that Mackris, 33, recorded some of O'Reilly's more steamy soliloquies. For example, we direct you to his Caribbean shower fantasies. While we suggest reading the entire document, TSG will point you to interesting sections on a Thailand sex show, Al Franken, and the climax of one August 2004 phone conversation."

Bill 'Blowhard' O'Reilly Sued for Being a Sleazy Pervert - But AP, of Course, Tries to Spin it Off
13-Oct-04
Bill O'Reilly

We're not sure which is sleazier: Bill O'Reilly, being sued for persistently and demeaningly sexually harassing a young associate, or A.merican P.ropaganda, for trying to play down the story to help O'Reilly. Instead of presenting the initial story - O';Reilly sued for sexual harassment - AP opens with this line: "Fox News Channel traded accusations Wednesday with one of the producers of Bill O'Reilly's show, with the woman alleging that the commentator had phone sex with her against her wishes three times. Fox in a claim of its own dismissed the sexual harassment complaint as a politically motivated extortion attempt. "In short, AP plays down the charges and tries to curry sympathies for blowhard O'Reilly, only presenting the woman's side at the END of the article. Guess the sleazoids (FOX and AP) stick together, sorta like that stuff ya find on the bottom of shoes after walking through an alley!

Sleazebag O'Reilly Tries to Smear Accuser with Bogus Counter Suit - How Very Tom DeLay of him!
13-Oct-04
Bill O'Reilly

Boy, Bill O'Reilly's army of lawyers must've been working feverishly for the past few hours! Just hours after the story broke that a sexual harassment lawsuit had been filed against one of media's biggest blowhards by a former intern, O'Reilly has filed an obviously bogus countersuit to try to smear his victim in a semi-preemptive strike. Like anyone is gonna believe that the victim made the whole thing up in an effort to extort "hush money" out of O'Reilly. Pul-eeeeeeze! But this soooooo typical of the Repugs like Delay - it isn't REALLY because they're big fat scumbags - it's the fault of anyone who dares to point that fact out!

Chilling! Bill O'Reilly Called for 'Final Solution' in Fallujah!
08-Jul-04
Bill O'Reilly

Nat Parry writes: "However, Bush's conservative base continues to bluster against the idea of any constraints on U.S. actions abroad. Right-wing Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly referred to Iraqis as a 'prehistoric group' and advocated that we 'bomb the living daylights out of them.' Earlier, during the siege of Fallujah, O'Reilly used his radio program to urge the military to 'level' the city. 'We know what the final solution should be,' he said, leaving listeners to wonder whether he meant a nuclear strike." This is scary --O'Reilly used dehumanizing language about Iraqis -- and actually called for a 'Final Solution'! But please, please, don't dare compare him to the Nazis... "Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it."

By His Own Definition, O'Reilly Isn't a REAL MAN
24-Jun-04
Bill O'Reilly

On 6/24/04, Bill O'Reilly's "Most Ridiculous Item of the Day" was a rant about film critic Jack Matthews, who compared O'Reilly with Michael Moore, calling "both ideological thugs who play loose with the facts while fostering hatred in an increasingly polarized country." When Matthews didn't answer O'Reilly's phone call, O'Reilly whined: "Real men do not criticize people behind their backs. They do it, Jack Matthews, face-to-face. OK, pal?" But guess what? After Bob Fertik crushed O'Reilly in a debate about the Iraq War on 9/25/02, O'Reilly did TWO editorials blasting Fertik... behind his back!!! (http://democrats.com/fertik) Hey Bill - that means you're not a REAL MAN, doesn't it? If you're a REAL MAN, then put Fertik back on your show to apologize! And why don't you accept his challenge to a FACE-TO-FACE debate (http://democrats.com/fox)? What's the matter, REAL MAN Bill - are those p***s enlarging pills not working for you?

O'Reilly Lies to Moore While Leaving F911 Screening
16-Jun-04
Bill O'Reilly

NY Daily News reports, "Only last week on his syndicated radio show, O'Reilly likened Moore to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels - author of the 'Big Lie' theory of political communication. As O'Reilly explained to his radio audience, 'Joseph Goebbels was the minister of propaganda for the Nazi regime and whose very famous quote was, 'If you tell a lie long enough, it becomes the truth.'' So it was a tad awkward when O'Reilly, trying to sneak out of the Ziegfeld Theater and almost at the exit, came jowl to jowl with Moore himself. Busted! 'Don't you want to stay and watch the whole film?' the director demanded. A Lowdown spy reports that O'Reilly blushed, shook Moore's hand and muttered something about having to 'tape something,' and then slunk off into the night. But 'The O'Reilly Factor' tapes in the afternoon, hours before it airs at 8 and 11 p.m. - and well before Monday night's premiere."

O'Reilly Finally Apologizes for Pushing Bush's WMD Lies!
10-Feb-04
Bill O'Reilly

"Some of George W. Bush's conservative political supporters are increasingly restive and anxious about the president's economic policies as well as his attempts to justify the war against Iraq. Fox television news anchor Bill O'Reilly, usually an outspoken Bush supporter, said on Tuesday he was now skeptical about the Bush administration and apologized to viewers for supporting prewar claims that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. 'I was wrong. I am not pleased about it at all and I think all Americans should be concerned about this,' O'Reilly said in an interview with ABC... Pollster John Zogby said Bush was on the defensive with some polls showing him slightly behind Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry... 'The president is on the ropes right now. The question is, how will he adjust? Right now, the issues are not in his favor. Many Americans still think the economy is poor and his rationale for the Iraq war seems a little thin,' Zogby said."

Grab the Popcorn - It's O'Reilly v. Drudge!
19-Dec-03
Bill O'Reilly

"Conservatives turning on themselves. The Drudge Report yesterday reported that in an eat-their-young move, Bill O'Reilly attacked the right-wing's own Matt Drudge, simply because he reported that O'Reilly's book sales 'lag far behind rivals Al Franken and Sen. Hillary Clinton.' O'Reilly responded to the report by saying 'the Matt Drudges of the world and these other people, Michael Moore and all of these crazies, all right, no responsibility... that is a threat to democracy, I think.' O'Reilly, who regularly rails against crime and violence in society, said, 'There is no other cure than to kill Matt Drudge.'" Just three words of advice, Bill: Anger Management Class.

O'Lielly Caught Grossly Exaggerating His Own Book Sales
17-Dec-03
Bill O'Reilly

Matt Drudge writes, "FoxNews's top-rated host Bill O'Reilly recently claimed that he is 'running against Hillary for most copies of nonfiction books sold this year!' But numbers obtained by the Drudge Report show a dramatically different sales scene for 2003 than O'Reilly's Today show comments. Nielsen's Bookscan placed O'Reilly at #6 for the year on the nonfiction charts, trailing rival Al Franken by nearly 30%! The number represents scanned, purchased, sold and bagged copies at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Border's, Costco and other outlets. [Bookscan is generally considered to capture about 70-80% of total sales of all books sold in USA.]"

O'Reilly Keeps Hitting the Snooze Button on his WMD Deadline
01-Dec-03
Bill O'Reilly

"Lately, O'Reilly has been playing a little game regarding the WMD situation in Iraq. Originally, Bill was convinced that when we liberated Iraq, there would be WMDs aplenty. Back in March 2003, he went so far as to tell the Good Morning America viewers that 'if the Americans go in and overthrow Saddam Hussein and it's clean, he has nothing, I will apologize to the nation, and I will not trust the Bush administration again.' Months later, after Bush declared the end of combat operations in Iraq and still no WMDs had been uncovered, O'Reilly started to regret those words. So he gave the White House an ultimatum to come clean about the WMDs 'in the next few weeks.' But when that deadline was about to expire, Bill offered a new expiration date, granting the President an additional five months. Five weeks later, when it became obvious that the administration had no intention of meeting O'Reilly's decree, Bill extended it another six months."

Tell O'Reilly to Keep His Word: Apologize to the Nation for WMD Lies!
30-Nov-03
Bill O'Reilly

"On March 18 Bill said: 'if the Americans go in and overthrow Saddam Hussein and it's clean, he has nothing, I will apologize to the nation, and I will not trust the Bush Administration again.' On April 22 Bill said: 'if weapons of mass destruction aren't found,... I will have to apologize because I bought into it... All right, a month from today, we'll do this story again.' Send Mr. O'Reilly an email to ask him to keep his word. Ask him to apologize to the nation. Remind him not to trust the Bush administration ever again." Copy and paste his quotes in an e-mail and send it to oreilly@foxnews.com!

O'Reilly Nailed on Another Whopper
28-Oct-03
Bill O'Reilly

Spinsanity: "Bill O'Reilly...has come under increasing attack in recent months... In a new syndicated column, he has lashed back, misrepresenting coverage he attributes to 'liberal media bias.' [O'Reilly:] 'For decades, they [liberals] controlled the agenda on TV news. That's over. So, they're counterattacking. My name is no longer Bill O'Reilly. It's 'gasbag,' 'bully,' 'liar' and 'blowhard.' Those descriptions are not confined to opinion pieces but are used in hard news stories as well.' If true, the use of these crude attacks would be astonishing proof of liberal bias. But the truth is that O'Reilly is being tricky about who is really calling him these names. A search of the Nexis news database reveals that hard news reporters have not applied such labels to O'Reilly without attribution. In writing about the controversy that surrounds O'Reilly, reporters have quoted statements from critics who use the terms or attributed them to critics who have expressed such a view." Whoops!

NPR Surrenders Its (Long-Lost) Principles to Bill O'Reilly
24-Oct-03
Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Reilly "whines when guests disagree with him, he whines when comedian Al Franken points out his mistakes of fact and style, he whines when he is not treated as the king of cable. So it should hardly come as any surprise that he whined about Terry Gross' mildly challenging interview with him on Oct. 8. After facing a round of questioning that was inspired by Franken's dissection of his television persona and background, O'Reilly told Gross, 'This is basically an unfair interview designed to try to trap me into saying something that Harper's magazine can use. And you know it. And you should be ashamed of yourself. And that is the end of this interview.' ... Unfortunately, NPR ombudsman Jeffrey Dworkin decided to join O'Reilly's attack on Gross, declaring that, 'Listeners were not well served by this interview. Unfortunately, the interview only served to confirm the belief, held by some, in NPR's liberal bias.'" E-mail ombudsman@npr.org. and cancel your membership.

O'Reilly Asks Condi: 'Do I Have to Apologize?' for WMD Lies
25-Sep-03
Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Reilly interviewed Condi Rice on his show, and asked her some tough questions. "Last March, I stuck up for you guys. After Colin Powell went to the United Nations -- and I said on 'Good Morning America' that I believed that we were right to go to war, the United States, based upon weapons of mass destruction and the danger that Saddam posed. And I also said to 'Good Morning America' if the weapons found to be bogus, I'd have to apologize for my stance. Do I have to apologize?" As the official FOX transcript shows, most of Condi's bushit replies were (UNINTELLIGIBLE). But O'Reilly asked some great questions, like Where's Saddam? Where's Osama? Why can't "Musharraf send in a couple of divisions and get him"? Which led to: "Why don't you send a couple of American divisions over to get Jacques Chirac?" And then, "How about a couple of divisions to get Ted Kennedy up in Hyannis." Fair and balanced? ROTFL!!!!

O'Reilly and His Ridiculous Lies
22-Sep-03
Bill O'Reilly

O'REILLY: "I never heard Mr. Clinton once say, come out and say, we need more discipline in the schools, we need tougher standards, we need alternative schools because we don't want the student body to be diverted by just a few. I never heard any of that." OH REALLY: "I have laid before the Congress a number of proposals that will make education our #1 priority and result in dramatic improvements of our schools: smaller classes, better teaching, higher standards, expanded choice, more discipline, greater accountability" (Bill Clinton, 5/7/98). O'REILLY: On the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled that forcing students to say the Pledge of Allegiance was unconstitutional: "The reason they're even sitting there is because they were appointed by liberal politicians. Conservative politicians would never appoint the pinheads sitting on the 9th Circuit." OH REALLY: The opinion in the Pledge case was drafted by Judge Alfred Goodwin, who was appointed by Richard Nixon." Read on!

Bill O'Reilly Says 'Shut Up' the Way Other People Say 'Um'
10-Sep-03
Bill O'Reilly

Jack Shafer writes, "Bill O'Reilly says 'shut up' the way other people say 'um.' On his daily show, he uses it as a place-holder for an idea still formulating in his brain. As a way to begin a sentence, end it, or punctuate it. Sometimes he says 'shut up' with fury, eyes bulging. When he's being dismissive, he delivers it offhandedly and without real malice. Other times he says it gently, with a minxlike twinkle in his eye, signaling to all the world that he's just being frisky.... In the half-decade his top-rated show has been on the air, he's called for the muzzling of practically everybody. At the rate O'Reilly is going, he'll be the only person allowed to speak in a couple of years. Which, I suppose, is his master plan." Check out Slate's index of O'Reilly idiocy.

Al Franken Nails Bill O'Reilly To The Wall
04-Jun-03
Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Reilly wins almost every argument in the Fox News environment created by Roger Ailes, who manages more fixed fights than the mob ever did. But outside the Ailes-controlled arena, it's a different story. On C-Span's Book TV O'Reilly was nailed to the wall by Al Franken. O'Reilly was reduced to yelling "shut up, shut" only to have Al Franken put him in his place by reminding him "this isn't your show Bill." The program will air again next Sunday. It's also downloadable from the C-Span Web site. Either way don't miss it.

Al Franken KO's Bill O'Reilly at Los Angeles Book Fair
01-Jun-03
Bill O'Reilly

Gene Gaudette reports on a rare live appearance by Bill O'Reilly where he had to share the stage with some real liberals: Molly Ivins and Al Franken. "Up to the podium came Al Franken, with the draft cover for his new book, 'Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced View of the Right'. He immediately pointed out that O'Reilly was among the many liars on the preliminary cover -- which elicited an angry scowl from O'Reilly, who was the frequent subject of cutaways during Franken's hilarious monologue. Billy-Bob's visage was frozen in the most pissed-off look we've yet seen from anyone on any flavor of C-SPAN." O'Reilly eventually exploded at Franken, telling him to SHUT UP! But Franken wouldn't let O'Reilly bully him, and scored a knockout by exposing O'Reilly's lies about receiving Peabody/Polk awards. You Go, Al!

O'Reilly Warns War Opponents They 'Will be Considered Enemies of the State'
03-Mar-03
Bill O'Reilly

MediaWhoresOnline reports that Bill O'Reilly actually said the following on 2/27/03: "Americans, and indeed our foreign allies who actively work against our military once the war is underway, will be considered enemies of the state by me. Just fair warning to you, Barbra Streisand and others who see the world as you do. I don't want to demonize anyone [like I do every week], but anyone who hurts this country in a time like this, well. Let's just say you will be spotlighted." The last person "spotlighted" by O'Reilly was Sami Al-Arian, which led directly to his indictment on 50 charges of terrorism by John Ashcroft. Bill O'Reilly is the most un-American "spotlighter" since Joseph McCarthy, and should be put on a shark-friendly boat to Cuba! [Note: on 2/28, O'Reilly said he "made a mistake" and would only call war opponents "bad Americans", not "un-American." He also scrubbed his 2/27 transcript so no one would ever know how dangerous he really is - drop us a note if you have a tape.]

Demand an Apology from Bill O'Reilly
12-Feb-03
Bill O'Reilly

"We, the undersigned, demand that Bill O'Reilly of FOX News issue a formal apology immediately for his egregious racial insensitivity. On February 7th, 2003, O'Reilly hosted a segment entitled 'porous US borders' on The O'Reilly Factor. His guest was Congressman Silvestre Reyes. O'Reilly made the following comment: 'We'd save lives because Mexican wetbacks, whatever you want to call them, the coyotes - they're not going to do what they're doing now, so people aren't going to die in the desert. So we save lives, all right, and we seal it down and make it 100 times harder to come across.' O'Reilly has yet to apologize for or even acknowledge his insensitive, bigoted use of the racial slurs 'wetbacks' and 'coyotes'. We are appalled that FOX News has yet to condemn O'Reilly's remarks. We call on all people of conscience to join us in demanding that O'Reilly apologize at once, not only to Hispanic Americans but to ALL Americans, for his hateful and inflammatory remarks." WashPost's Media 'Critic' Fawns over Bill O'Reilly
10-Feb-03
Bill O'Reilly

"Dear Howie,

I lost my breakfast reading your fawning article about Bill O'Reilly.

I went up against O'Reilly on his show on 9-25-02. He called me names, told me to "take a bus down to Mexico," and threw me off, but not before he told a stream of lies, all documented here:
http://democrats.com/fertik

O'Reilly was so humiliated he attacked me in two subsequent segments.

O'Reilly is a loathesome coward who refuses a real debate:
http://democrats.com/fox

And his boss Roger Ailes is a humorless powermonger who threatened to sue Democrats.com over an April Fool's parody!
http://democrats.com/ailes

Of course, you won't mention any of this in print, because you're just a right-wing bootlicker who is terrified to tell your readers that Democrats.com is the most important alternative news source in America. With our Internet allies, we are defending freedom and democracy while the Post hands America over to the radical Republican right."

Racist O'Reilly Calls Mexicans 'Wetbacks'
07-Feb-03
Bill O'Reilly

"Wetback" is a racial slur for Mexicans that ranks with "nigger", "coolie", "kike", and "wop". (For a complete list, visit http://www.mazepath.com/uncleal/slurs.htm). So when Bill O'Reilly denounced "Mexican wetbacks," he might as well have said black niggers, Chinese coolies, Jewish kikes, and Italian wops. How DARE O'Reilly use racist slurs on the airwaves - against Mexicans or anyone else? From now on, maybe we'll refer to Irishman O'Reilly as "paddy," "spudnigger," or "mick"! E-mail Oreilly@foxnews.com or call (212)301-3000.

Limbaugh Boycott Infuriates O'Reilly
05-Feb-03
Bill O'Reilly

TakeBackTheMedia.com has organized a powerful boycott against advertisers on Rush Limbaugh's show, which is producing results as terrified advertisers like Radio Shack are canceling their ads. This terrifies Bill O'Reilly, who knows HE will be next. So he invited TBTM's Micheal Stinson onto his show for the "treatment," including being rudely cut off. Here is Stinson's "final word."

O'Reilly Disrespects 9-11 Family Member
05-Feb-03
Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Reilly made a big mistake when he invited Jeremy Glick, son of a transit worker who was killed at the World Trade Center on 9-11, onto his show on 2-4-03 (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,77656,00.html). Glick is the editor of "Another World is Possible," and he signed the Not In Our Name statement (www.nion.us). O'Reilly accused Glick of supporting terrorism, but Glick fired right back. O'Reilly had to resort to interrupting Glick and telling him repeatedly to "shut up." Bill - you're a major league jerk!

Bill Moyers Takes on Bill O'Reilly - Will O'Reilly Defend His Sorry Butt?
05-Dec-02
Bill O'Reilly

Bill Moyers may be the most gentle person on TV, second only to Mr. Rogers. But he's sick and tired of Bill O'Reilly lying about him, and now he's putting on the boxing gloves to fight back. "In a recent column and broadcast Bill O'Reilly makes a number of assertions about me, in matters large and small, that are both undocumented and false. It's time to set the record straight." Wham - slam - bam! One by one, Moyers demolishes O'Reilly's lies, leaving O'Reilly flat on his back. Will O'Reilly get up off the canvass? Will he defend his pathetically sorry butt? Stay tuned - they oughta sell ringside tickets for this one!

O'Reilly's 'No Spin Zone' is a 'No Talk Zone' for Those Who Dare to Disagree
21-Nov-02
Bill O'Reilly

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette editorial writer Michael McGough was invited onto Bill O'Reilly's "No Spin Zone" to discuss an editorial about a controversy over the VH1 documentary series "Music Behind Bars." But when McGough criticized O'Reilly for "parading" the murder victim's sister on his show, O'Reilly went ballistic. "Mike, shut up. I resent the fact that you said that we exploited this woman. We gave this woman a voice. That's something that you and your stupid newspaper would never do, you pinhead. You would never do that... You and your ilk and all of this pinhead editorial nonsense never get down to the suffering and pain of the crime victims, because you don't want those voices to be heard. The Post-Gazette should be ashamed of itself." And before McGough could defend himself, O'Reilly hung up on him, then unleashed his vigilantes on the Post-Gazette. So our question is: why does the FCC give one of our scarce and precious broadcast licenses to a bullying right-wing demagogue???

Move Over, O'Reilly - Here Comes THE FERTIK FACTOR
30-Sep-02
Bill O'Reilly

On 9-25-02, Bob Fertik whupped Bill O'Reilly in a face-to-face debate. O'Reilly was so upset with his crushing defeat that he twice tried to "spin" his way out by lying about the same CBS News poll. We've gone through O'Reilly's arguments and identified at least EIGHT lies - not to mention personal attacks. Hey Bill, is that the BEST you can do? If so, then make way for THE FERTIK FACTOR!
