09-Dec-01
This poem was written on December 7, in recognition of Pearl Harbor Day. It focuses on the loss of our Towers and people, especially the need for us to concentrate on rebuilding our democracy, under God.
As Peaks Have Fallen

Skyscrapers of New York City
Downed without reason or pity
Global City strikes on terror
On call with or without error
Values so tactfully departed
War overseas united as charted
Justice peaks undoubtedly fallen
Innocence falling prey tumble in
Homeland symbolizing democracy
Powers overextended into secrecy
Now falters in hypocrisy
Unanswered questions people debate
If fighting resolves or tends to negate
With God on high beyond constructed peaks
Prayers for peace overcome both cheeks
Let us pray to end wars and all it reeks
