It's official. Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. So sayest David Kay. That means everything Bush said about the threat from Iraq since his 'Axis of Evil' State of the Union address in January 2002 was a lie. Investigation? What is there to investigate? There is only one question: Why hasn't Bush been impeached?

Impeachment, Not Investigation

It's official. Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction.

So sayest David Kay.

That means everything Bush said about the threat from Iraq since his "Axis of Evil" State of the Union address in January 2002 was a lie.

Investigation? What is there to investigate?

There is only one question: Why hasn't Bush been impeached?

In 1998, Bill Clinton told one little white lie about one insignificant affair. Clinton was impeached for that little white lie.

Bush lied to the American people for two full years. As a result of Bush's lies, 526 American soldiers have died - and $166 billion of OUR tax money has been thrown away.

Bush's defenders say the difference between Bush and Clinton is that Bush didn't know he was lying.

Well, why the hell not?

Bush is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. It is his job to decide when America's soldiers need to put their lives at risk to defend America.

So it is his job to distinguish real threats to America from imaginary ones. That's why we pay him $400,000 per year, which is twice what Bill Clinton was paid.

If Bush is incapable of telling the difference between reality and fantasy, then he is mentally unfit for office, and we should invoke the 25th Amendment (see MadGeorge.us).

If he can distinguish reality from fantasy, then why didn't he demand the truth about Iraq before starting a war?

When you are the President - even if you weren't elected - this is not very hard to do. In fact, anyone could do it.

"Mr. Tenet: I'm hearing rumors that Iraq has nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. I order you to report back to me with the facts. I want you to show me solid evidence, not hearsay and rumors. Come back with your report in a week."

Did Bush do this?

If not, then he failed in his job as Commander-in-Chief and he should immediately resign to prove his "integrity" - and to spare the nation the pain of impeachment.

If Bush did demand this report from Tenet, and George Tenet lied to his Commander-in-Chief, then Tenet should be tried for high treason and executed.

It's not very complicated.

Of course, for the sake of history - and Democracy - there are other questions we'd love to have answered.

Did Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleezza Rice, and Colin Powell lie to their Commander-in-Chief? If so, then they should all be tried for treason and executed. If they merely repeated lies from George Tenet, then they should all be fired immediately for incompetence.

Did the three broadcast TV networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) lie to the American people? If so, then they should all have their publicly-owned broadcast licenses revoked. If they merely repeated lies from George Tenet, then all top executives should be immediately fired.

Did the rest of the corporate-owned media lie to the American people? If so, then all of their top executives should also be immediately fired.

A Democracy cannot function on lies. In order to restore our Democracy, we must identify and remove all liars from the government and the corporate media.

If we accept lies - and the lying liars who tell them - then Democracy is dead.

Democrats.com will not accept the lies. Since neither Republicans nor Democrats in Congress has decided to introduce Articles of Impeachment, we are launching a grassroots impeachment campaign aimed at all 435 Members of the House of Representatives.

We invite you to participate in ImpeachBush.Meetup.com. Our next Meetup will be in a location near you on Monday, February 23, at 7 p.m. To learn more, visit impeachcentral.com.
