"The life of Felix I. Rodriguez provides a tour through the dark heart of America. Michelle Goldberg writes, "Mayor Michael Bloomberg hailed the Republican National Convention as an economic boon to the city, but it turned out to be a bust for the poor saps stuck serving the tight-fisted Bush girls. According to the New York Post's Page Six, the debaucherous twins spent all night Wednesday getting trashed at the Manhattan club Avalon, and then stiffed the help. As the Post reports, 'They [and their entourage of about 25] drank $4,500 dollars worth of drinks - bottles and bottles of vodka,' says a club insider. 'Then, having been comped all the alcohol, they left a $48 tip. We thought 1 per cent was kind of outrageous, considering they are the president's daughters." Leave aside what this says about the girls' respect for working people. These kids and their friends swilled $180 worth of booze per person. A galloping sense of entitlement, apparently, isn't the only thing that runs in the Bush family."

NY Post: "Jenna and Barbara Bush lived up to their hard-partying reputation while in NYC supporting their pop, during the Republican Convention, according to our spies around town. The twosome kicked off a week of fun last Sat at Chelsea hot spot 17, where...they partied with a group of 20 guests till the early hours. 'Jenna seemed more wild than Barbara,' said a witness. 'They probably got through about three bottles of Level vodka...' The conservative cuties' next big night was Wed. at Sixth Avenue nightclub Avalon, where they were in the crowd smoking cigarettes and pumping their fists to Kid Rock, who was performing on stage. 'They [and their entourage of about 25] drank $4,500 dollars worth of drinks - bottles and bottles of vodka,' says a club insider. 'Then, having comped all the alcohol, they left a $48 tip. No matter what the created disaster, members of the Bush Crime Family always profit on the back of the taxpayers. Speaking of US education (or lack thereof), here's one reason Bush is pushing privatization of our schools and 'No Child Left Behind'...his brother Neil. Neil Bush founded a company that provides software to help students take standardized tests. (ring a bell?) Watching Laura Bush being "interviewed" by Jim Leher on 8/31, we weren't sure who to be more embarrassed for: Ms. Stepford, who clearly epitomizes the simple-minded rightwinger's approach to the world, or Leher, who fed her simple-minded, obviously pre-scripted questions in the kind of patient, coaxing tone you'd use on a 6-year-old reciting her lessons for mommy and daddy. Now we discover that the identical prescripted questions and answers via Ms. Stepford are being churned out across the Bushie media. We aren't the only ones who see through this pathetic, carefully choreographed and inexcusably hyped song and dance. One Buzzflash reader, after seeing the "routine" in Time, fired off an outraged letter....

This week, Laura Bush (R-Stepford) went on the O'Reilly Factor to complain about the opinionated media! Not only is O'Reilly one of the most opinionated blowhards out there, his show is on FOX - recently exposed in "Outfoxed" as pandering news that is shamelessly manipulated to promote the Bush agenda. This is like going into a MacDonald's, wolfing down about 5 Big Macs with gusto, then complaining about the horrors of fast food!

"US Airways confirmed that a scheduled flight between Boston and D.C. was diverted on Saturday so Bush's daughters could get on the plane. The Bush twins were picked up, along with 22 other passengers... A mechanical problem with another US Airways flight stranded Jenna and Barbara Bush. The twins and 22 other passengers were added to the Boston-to-D.C. flight. The plane arrived at Washington Reagan National Airport TWO HOURS late. A representative for US Airways said the decision to divert the plane had [ABSOLUTELY!] nothing to do with the Bush twins. In fact, the representative said US Airways often diverts planes for such problems, but could not provide an exact number when asked. Dorsey talked to several passengers at Reagan National Airport who said they have never heard of such treatment. Industry experts say such diversions are extremely rare." Imagine the outrage from the media if a plane was diverted for Chelsea! We demand an investigation!

Jenna Bush proved that her Daddy is apparently not paying her well enough. She and her twin sister have joined Daddy and Mommy on the campaign trail recently - as Bush tells it, the girls are doing it out of undying devotion to Daddy. But as rumor has it, the girls were offered a financial "settlement" for their services they found impossible to refuse. But this week, it seems that even expensive dresses and large sums can't make turn a Jenna into a Chelsea or Caroline K. Check out this decidedly un-lovely photo of Jenna sticking her tongue out at the press - we can just imagine the crude comment she undoubtedly cracked simultaneously (remember daddy's smiling comment about Adam Clymer?).

Crumbling in the polls, and his mamma's book having failed to boost his image, Bush is bringing out his latest prop - or should we say, set of props: twins Jenna and Barbara Bush. The two are now appearing in carefully cultivated phony personas in mags - incl. Vogue, and speaking with Daddy at Campaign stops. Few besides core Bush supporters are impressed. Comic Craig Kilborn quipped this week: "The Bush twins are hitting the campaign trail for their dad and here's the plan. Whenever dad is asked a tough question, the Bush twins wrestle." Jay Leno and others made comparable jokes. But unlike Chelsea Clinton and Kerry and Edwards' kids, the twins have a big advantage: Daddy owns the media. And, rumor has it there is another big advantage: Daddy is willing to pay big bucks for his girls' "cooperation." It would be interesting in a few months to check the twins' bank accounts for extremely large lump sum deposits.

Recently, when Rep.Charles Bass, a NH Republican warned Bush that pushing the anti-gay marriage bit was alienating Northeastern voters. "In response, Bass said, Bush ''looked at me like I was crazy." The president ignored the advice and actively supported a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, " - a move that suffered a humilitating defeat."On issue after issue, from stem cell research to Cuba policy, Bush has shown little appetite for ''tacking to the middle," as political operatives call it This new base-centered approach [what is this 'base' we keep hearing about - NeoNaziish, ultrarightwing Christian fundies?), chiefly championed by Bush strategists Karl Rove and Matthew Dowd, marks a sharp departure from the broad campaign Bush waged in 2000 as a ''compassionate conservative," when his goal was to emphasize his softer, moderate side." Talk about flip floppers! Bush has shifted from courting moderates to (rumor has it) actively courting the extreme Christian right.

In an apparently permanent state of mid-life crisis, Bush, Sr. "honored" his birthday by jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet to prove just what a macho man he is (now that he can't bomb Third World countries to show off his testosterone). After the jump Bush arrogantly ordered other seniors to "Get out and do something. Just don't watch TV." Of course, great health at 80 and opportunities to have expensive forms of fun require: A. a lifetime of the world's best healthcare (paid through much of Bush's life by taxpayers), and B. Enough money to do something besides watch TV - a luxury a growing # of seniors don';t have, thanks in large part to the policies of Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II. "It's great to have people that have energy and vitality like my dad and approach age with dignity," Jeb Bush said. Dignity? The only thing Bush I proved by jumping out of a plane is the law of gravity.

"A new book on the Bush dynasty is set for release just six weeks before November's knife-edge presidential election. The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty by Kitty Kelley will have an initial print run of 500,000, and the main source is believed to be Sharon Bush, the ex-wife of Neil, President George W Bush's wayward brother. Kelley, whose unauthorised biographies of Frank Sinatra, Jackie Onassis and the British Royal Family have told tales of affairs, electric-shock treatment and more affairs, has turned her attention to America's first family. The book could be the most damaging yet for the President, with the publishers, Random House, promising it will 'cause controversy'."

Even the staid, conservative Business Week now says: "Is this really a President who turned centuries of international law on its head, who misled Americans with justifications for invasion that have turned out to be spectacularly false, sent other sons and daughters into a war that continues to kill one or two of them every day, has concocted half-baked plans for rebuilding a land torn asunder, and plunged the U.S. budget into an ocean of red ink so he could figuratively stare into Saddam's eyes and say, 'You tried to kill my father. Prepare to die.'"

Kevin Phillips has written a BRILLIANT concise summary of the Bush family ties to Mideast Oil - and the corruption and conflicts of interest they have produced. Bush's big paydays in the stock of Kopin Corp. of Taunton, Mass., included the July 19, 1999, purchase and quick sale of stock as the company announced good news about a new Asian client that sent its stock value soaring. Bush said he did not have any inside information from Kopin, and simply acted on a recommendation from his financial adviser. 'Any increase in the price of the stock on that day was purely coincidental, meaning that I did not have any improper information,' Bush said in e-mails to The Associated Press. 'My timing on this transaction was very fortunate.'" Oh really? This is 8 TIMES what Hillary made in futures, which rightwingers are still fuming about. BushCroft can't investigate his brother - we demand a Special Prosecutor!

AP: "Cashing in stock options before the market crashed, presidential brother Neil Bush made at least $171,370 in a single day by buying and selling shares in a small U.S. high-tech firm where he had previously been a consultant, according to tax returns that give a glimpse into his business dealings. The July 19, 1999 purchase and quick sale of stock from Kopin Corp. of Taunton, Mass., came on a day that the company received good news about a new Asian client that sent its stock value soaring. 'My timing on this transaction was very fortunate,' Bush told The Associated Press. Bush's profit was a slice of at least $798,218 that the president's younger brother reported on his tax returns from three transactions involving Kopin's stock."

Connie Cook Smith writes: "We all know who John Hinckley, Jr. is, now being released from a mental facility in D.C. for nearly killing President Reagan in 1981. A much more interesting subject is, who is John Hinckley, Sr.? In 1980, Hinckley Sr. was a Texas oilman who, the records show, strove mightily to get fellow Texas oilman George H.W. Bush the Republican nomination for president. The Bushes and the Hinckleys were frequent dinner companions. But far beyond their social connection, neither Bush nor Hinckley wanted Ronald Reagan to become president, because Reagan was opposed to the tax breaks for the oil industry which Bush and Hinckley and other Texans were highly dependent on. The effort to make Bush Sr. president in 1980 failed, but he and his backer Hinckley Sr. got the next best thing -- the 'heartbeat away from the presidency' office of Vice-President of the United States."

The Baltimore Sun reports: "Neil Bush... earned nearly $1.4 million in 2000 and nearly half of it came from simply introducing the executives of a Thailand-based conglomerate to the executives of a U.S. company that makes computer components. The introduction, which led to a $20 million investment in the U.S. company, is one of several high-stakes international business deals that Bush's younger brother has been involved in over the past few years, according to court and corporate records... In a deposition taken March 3 as part of his divorce case, Neil Bush said he earned $642,000 from the deal that paired U.S.-based Kopin Corp. investors with the CP (Charoen Pokphand) Group, an Asian firm headed by Dhanin Chearavanont... It was also a 40 percent partner in a company that owned a Thailand toy factory that was destroyed by fire in 1993, killing 188 workers... The blaze, which also injured 469 workers, has been labeled the world's worst industrial fire."

"The first lady also said that the 'Roses are red, violets are blue' poem she read at a National Book Festival gala in October was not actually written by her husband even though it has been attributed to him. She did not say who wrote the poem. 'But a lot of people really believed that he did,' she said." Why? Because Laura SAID he did (see below). This just proves there is no LIE too big - or too small - for the Bush crime family. Now imagine if Hillary Clinton or Tipper Gore had lied about their husbands writing a poem? We would never have heard the end of it. Where are the investigative reporters? Where is the outrage?

Why do people think W wrote a poem to Laura? Because she said so!

An almost bewildered John Chancellor on NBC Nightly News reported 'the bizarre coincidence' that Vice President Bush's son, Neil, and Scott Hinckley had dinner plans for March 31, 1981 -- now cancelled, of course." Possible explanations: 1) Sheer coincidence. 2) Hinckley was still a lone gunman, who wanted to impress his family of Bush friends (as well as Jodie Foster). 3) Scott (and others?) innocently teased him about his Jodie Foster obsession, possibly mentioning Reagan, and he took it too seriously. 4) A frame-up by a Bush political adversary. 5) Something equally nefarious by the Bushes.

Margie Burns writes: "Many observers were surprised last week when George W. Bush came down in favor of the People's Republic of China, against a democratic referendum in Taiwan. His weighing in on behalf of mainland China becomes more questionable at a time when well-connected Chinese companies are funneling large sums of money to Bush's brothers. News reports reveal that Shanghai-based Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing, a multi-billion-dollar company co-founded by a son of China's former president, has presidential brother Neil Bush under a $2 million contract... An even bigger Chinese company recently moved in ways that benefit youngest Bush brother Marvin P. Bush. The company is Hong Kong-based Cheung Kong Holdings, a gargantuan real estate and investment conglomerate now branching into biotechs.'"

From an Op-Ed in the Philippines ABS-CBN News: "1983: Washington removes Iraq from the list of countries it said were supporting terrorism. Iraq is still ruled by Saddam Hussein and Saddam Hussein is still a good chum of George H.W. Bush and the White House. Years later, the son of George Sr. inherits the White House and hysterically calls his dad's ex-buddy 'a homicidal dictator addicted to weapons of mass destruction'... Part of [Rumseld's] job is to pretend he can no longer recall that he once remarked, 'It struck us as useful to have a relationship with him,' in reference to Saddam, whose hand he had graciously fondled when he visited Baghdad not too long ago as an emissary of Reagan... 1942: A good year for family values. Under the Trading with the Enemy Act, the US government orders the seizure of Nazi German banking operations in New York City, which were being directed by Prescott Bush. Shucks, Grandpa."

"Now comes the sweetest deal of all - enriched by the blood sugar seeping out from the bodies of American soldiers and Iraqi civilians. Yes, Neil [Bush] has dipped his silver spoon into the reconstruction gravy being ladled out by his brother George... Neil is now being paid a fat annual fee to 'help companies secure contracts in Iraq,' the Financial Times reports. Bush is co-chairman of a pork funnel called Crest Investment Corporation. His partner, Syrian-American businessman Jamal Daniel, is wired into the chief private conduit of war profits, New Bridge Strategies, a lobbying firm packed with Bush family retainers, many of whom left government service this spring to leap into the Iraq money pit. As long as Brother George keeps tossing cannon fodder into the Iraqi cauldron, Brother Neil will keep padding his bulging Bush wallet. Neil's sordid saga exemplifies the Bush clan's prime 'family value': rake it in from all sides, blood and honor be damned" - just like Grandpa Prescott.

Rick Casey writes: "The [London] Times, a more elegant publication, did not wallow in such seediness. Instead, it accused the American media of falling down on the job. 'In America, however, (the story) barely merited a mention,' it said. The Washington Post buried a brief item. The New York Times ran a Reuters news service story but stripped it of all references to sex. The London Times did mention the New York Daily News story, 'Bush Brother's Shocking Sex and Biz Life,' but described it as being 'buried' on page 23. The New York Post played it page 2 with what the Times called a 'flattering headline'... The London Times may have missed the in-depth treatment given by a front-page Los Angeles Times story, and the Boston Herald front-page headline: "Sex and sweet deals: Bush bro's Asian romp." Yeah, right, like it was on every TV News and Cable show as a lead story! What if this had been about Roger Clinton?

The Moonie UPI reports: "A Texas court has been asked to order the younger brother of George W. Bush to give a new sample for DNA testing in a paternity-related defamation suit, sources told United Press International Wednesday.... Sharon Bush is being sued for defamation by Robert Andrews, a business associate of Neil Bush, who claims she defamed his 2-year-old son by publicly saying the boy was fathered by Neil Bush... Sharon had earlier been reported as saying she intended to write a tell-all book about her marriage and the Bush family. 'We consider it (the suit) vindictive and an attempt to shut her up,' [Sharon's attorney, David] Berg said. 'You'd have to be blind not to understand the message when they sued her on the same day that she closed on the house for the same amount of money, an identical amount. 'They are sending a message ... It sounds like Andrews is a stalking horse for Bush.'"

From Reuters: "Neil Bush, younger brother of pResident Bush, detailed lucrative business deals and admitted to engaging in sex romps with women in Asia in a deposition taken in March as part of his divorce from now ex-wife Sharon Bush. According to legal documents disclosed on Tuesday, Sharon Bush's lawyers questioned Neil Bush closely about the deals, especially a contract with Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corp., a firm backed by Jiang Mianheng, the son of former Chinese President Jiang Zemin, that would pay him $2 million in stock over five years... He admitted in the deposition that he previously had sex with several other women while on trips to Thailand and Hong Kong at least five years ago. The women, he said, simply knocked on the door of his hotel room, entered and had sex with him. He said he did not know if they were prostitutes because they never asked for money and he did not pay them." Gotta love those Bush Family Values.

Rick Casey: "Maybe the president of Taiwan did pay presidential younger brother Neil Bush a million bucks for a recent 30-minute meeting in New York. I expressed skepticism in a recent column, but that was before I saw Exhibit 24 in the files of Bush's contentious divorce. I didn't realize Bush's advice was so valuable. The exhibit is a two-page contract between Bush and Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., which recently opened a $1.6 billion computer chip production plant in Shanghai. The co-founder and CEO is Winston Wong, son of a wealthy Taiwanese plastics magnate. The contract bears Wong's and Bush's signatures."

Our summary of Laura Bush's comments on her UK trip: "We met the Queen. She was very nice. The queen has a dog. I have a dog. We both like dogs. People say there were many protestors. But I did not see them so there probably weren't very many. I saw many smiling people, though. Maybe as many as 200! They say there was some security thing happening at Windsor Palace, but I didn't read about it. The president did not read about it either. We do not read the newspapers. But we have many nice people at the White House who tell us everything we need to know."

As you have seen on all of the news, the man who shot Ronald Reagan wants to get some unsupervised release time from his mental hospital. Here is a story that was reported by the AP and Houston Post back at the time of the shooting, but that was otherwise ignored by the mainstream media. Scott Hinckley, John's brother, had a dinner scheduled with Neil Bush the day after Reagan was shot. The Hinckleys were executives of the Vanderbilt Energy Company, which was being investigated by Reagan's Department of Energy.

Bush's royal visit to England will be a disaster for Tony Blair. So if Blair didn't invite Bush, who did? "Getting the first ever state visit for a US president was a big request, but Team Bush had just the man to make it. William Farish III, the US ambassador to London, has been the invisible man of the diplomatic circuit since he arrived here. But he has one asset: he is a genuinely close friend of the Windsors." Georgie, picked on by those big mean Democrats, has called in his Mommy. Her new book was released on Oct. 20. It is about as whining and mean-spirited as.... well, her boys. "America's Favorite Gramma" (as MSNBC gushingly describes her in its puff piece) is apparently a bitter, grudge-holding old dame. "She continues to keep close tabs on scores left unsettled, with everyone from the Clintons to the reporter who wrote more than a decade ago that her husband didn't know what a grocery-store scanner was. 'But I'm not bitter, I'm just sad.'" Yeah, right. Like Rush Limbaugh just has "a little pill problem." Hey, Georgie! When will you grow up and fight your own battles?

On 9-23-03, Bush's speech to the UN included a denunciation of the global sex trade. "The PROTECT Act, which I signed into law this year, makes it a crime for any person to enter the United States, or for any citizen to travel abroad, for the purpose of sex tourism involving children. The Department of Justice is actively investigating sex tour operators and patrons, who can face up to 30 years in prison." Did W's brother Neil - the Silverado director who cost taxpayers $1 BILLION - break that law? In a deposition during his divorce case, Neil said "I had had sexual intercourse with perhaps three or four - I don't remember the exact number - women at different times," during overseas trips. "In Thailand once, I have a pretty clear recollection that there was one time in Thailand and in Hong Kong," Neil said. We demand an investigation!

"George Bush's brother has admitted cheating on his ex-wife with 'three or four' different women, it was alleged... Neil Bush, 48, told of the affairs during leaked video depositions to lawyers representing his former wife, Sharon. The father-of-three said: 'I had sexual intercourse with perhaps three or four - I don't remember the exact number - women at different times.' The affairs took place while he was on business trips to the Far East, according to a report in the New York Times. Mr Bush allegedly told the lawyers: 'In Thailand once, I have pretty clear recollection that there was one time in Thailand and Hong Kong.'" "Three or four women at different times" -- does that mean Neil engaged in foursomes and fivesomes???

USA Today reports: "The White House didn't return phone calls Wednesday, but the resident and first [stepford] lady must be reeling over Ashton Kutcher's comments about their twin daughters in the new Rolling Stone... 'And then I go upstairs to see another friend, and I can smell the green (marijuana) wafting out under his door. I open the door, and there he is, smoking out the Bush twins on his hookah.' Kutcher wasn't apologetic Wednesday, because in the article 'he didn't say what was being smoked or who was doing the smoking," says spokeswoman Leslie Sloane Zelnik." Will this get widespread coverage, or will it be scrubbed by Media loyalists to the Crown?

She had a long lunch with biographer Kitty Kelley, who wrote a controversial 1991 portrait of Nancy Reagan and currently is researching her own book on the Bush family." No doubt Sharon will write about Neil's part in looting the Silverado Savings and Loan. But we'd also like to hear her views on why John Hinckley's brother, Scott, was to have dinner with Neil right after Reagan was shot. Or that John Hinckley Sr. was one of the biggest contributors to the Bush '80 campaign - as well as a good family friend. This was reported by the AP and Houston Post at the time (enter "Bush Hinckley" in a search engine like Google).

"Neil Bush and his wife, Sharon, are headed to divorce court, and a source says their lawyers are frantically working for a last-minute settlement. The resident's brother is splitting from his wife of 23 years - there have been published reports that he has a replacement waiting in the wings - and a trial date has been set for mid-April in a Houston court, says a source familiar with the case. 'This thing could get really ugly,' says the insider. 'We're hoping that it will all get settled out of court. The last thing we want now is for the Bush family to be airing its dirty laundry.' The couple are the parents of model Lauren Bush. 'Of course,' adds the insider, 'in the current political climate, maybe no one will touch the story because they don't want to be accused of being unpatriotic.'" When Clinton was President, adultery was grounds for impeachment - under Bush, adultery is PATRIOTIC! Impeach Bush Now!

Reading is believing! Does George Dubya's father know that his son is completely out of control??? A must read!

Jeb Bush, hopes to sell a program to Florida schools that students would use to prepare for the test that is key to the governor's education policy....(Dubya's) "Leave No Child Behind" law forces states to use testing as a measuring stick for schools..."I don't know where the money's going to come from for this....These districts are hard pressed to pay for chalk, let alone to put money in the pocket of the Bush family."

With only 19 days until Election Day, "Jeb Bush's only daughter was led away in handcuffs Thursday after [Circuit Judge Reginald Whitehead] sentenced her to 10 days in jail for violating the terms of her drug treatment program [after she was found with crack cocaine in her shoe while at the treatment center]... Bush was placed in the drug court system after she was accused of trying to use a fake prescription to buy the anti-anxiety drug Xanax in Tallahassee in January. [Shrub]'s niece has been undergoing treatment at the treatment center since February as an alternative to going through the traditional criminal justice system. Thursday's hearing was to determine if she could stay in her program or whether she would be returned to the regular criminal justice system for violating rules in the drug treatment program. Earlier this week, Whitehead had rejected a request from Bush's attorneys that the press and public be banned from her drug court proceedings."

AP writes, "Drug rehabilitation workers where Gov. Jeb Bush's daughter is receiving treatment aren't required to answer police questions on whether Noelle Bush was in possession of drugs, a judge ruled Monday." The Bush family wins again. If this is the case, why was Daryl Strawberry's case any different than this one as he was sentenced back to jail for violating some of the rehab rules? Patients called the police about Noelle, and then they found crack/cocaine. Once again the Bush family is simply ABOVE the law. Where is the outrage???

Arianna Huffington writes, "I feel nothing but sympathy and concern for Noelle... I'm in total agreement with (Jeb's) insistence that his daughter's substance-abuse problem is 'a private issue.' But... the heartless stance the governor has taken toward the drug problems of those less fortunate and well connected than his daughter, my empathy turns to outrage... Her father has made it harder for others... to get the help they need by cutting the budgets of drug treatment and drug court programs... He (opposes) a proposed ballot initiative that would send an estimated 10,000 nonviolent drug offenders into treatment instead of jail... African-Americans make up only 13% of... drug users but 55% of those convicted of drug possession and 74% of those sent to jail on possession charges... If America's drug laws were applied consistently, Jeb Bush and his family would be evicted from their publicly funded digs, just as people living in public housing can be thrown out of their homes."

Houston Chronicle reports: "Neil and Sharon Bush... Bush's brother and sister-in-law, have filed for divorce in Harris County District Court. The suit, filed Aug. 26 under the couple's initials -- N.M.B. vs. S.L.B. -- says the two married in July 1980 and separated in July 2002. Filed by Neil Bush, the suit cites 'discord or conflict of personalities' as the reason for the divorce. Neil Bush agreed to take the case to alternative dispute resolution to decide custody of two of the couple's children, a 16-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter. A third child, fashion model Lauren Bush, is 18 and is not mentioned in the suit. Neil Bush, 46, served until 1988 as director of the Denver-based Silverado Banking, Savings & Loan Association, whose collapse in 1988 was investigated by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. He was one of 12 defendants, mostly former directors of Silverado, who agreed in 1991 to pay $49.5 million to settle a $200 million negligence lawsuit brought by the FDIC."

Orlando Sentinel reports, "Gov. Jeb Bush's 25-year-old daughter was found with cocaine at an Orlando drug-rehabilitation center... Bush was not arrested because police could not obtain sworn statements signed by the center's staff. A worker who found the suspected cocaine on Noelle Bush tore up a sworn statement she had written at the suggestion of one of her bosses, police said... Police were called to the Center for Drug Free Living at about 8:45 p.m. Monday where workers gave them a substance that later tested positive for cocaine, Rolon said. Center staffers said they talked with Bush after receiving several complaints from residents about her... Employee Julia Elias searched Noelle Bush and 'found a small white rock-like like substance in Bush's shoe.' Elias ripped [up] a sworn statement that officers later collected as evidence." We demand uniform justice for all members of the most powerful family in America - including Jeb's eviction from public housing!

As a candidate, even George W. Bush made fun of the antiquated weapon as he campaigned on the principle of a leaner, more efficient military built for modern wars. But perhaps nobody had told him that the Crusader is being built by a defense contractor called United Defense, owned by the Carlyle Group," run by Poppy Bush and his closest buddies Frank Carlucci and James Baker. Where is the outrage? We demand a Special Prosecutor to investigate corruption within the entire B%$# family!

Noelle then PERJURED herself in Florida court when she swore she had no prior arrests - she WAS arrested for shoplifting lingerie in 1995 and paid a $305 fine. To conceal her criminal record, Noelle gave Florida police a different Social Security number - yet ANOTHER fraud. Noelle also received more than 12 driving tickets (including driving 95 MPH in Palm Beach County) with 4 crashes, including one influenced by drugs - why was she never arrested, or her license revoked? According to the Palm Beach Post, "Noelle Bush, 24, was released from jail at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday without having to pay a $1,000 bond because she had a clean criminal background that made her eligible for a 'pre-trial release' on the charge. But with reports Wednesday of a 1995 shoplifting offense in Arizona involving a woman with the identical name and birth date as Bush, a Leon County official who supervises the pre-trial release program said Bush might not be eligible... Also Wednesday, more details surfaced regarding the driving record of the governor's daughter. She has seven speeding tickets, one for going 95 mph in a 65-mph zone in Palm Beach County in 1994. Bush got into three crashes, two in 2000, according to Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles records." No word yet whether anyone injured or killed...

Noelle Bush, daughter of Jeb & Columba Bush, was busted for prescription fraud involving the anti-anxiety drug Xanax. Noelle, 24, is the governor's middle child. Both of her brothers also have arrest records. In 1994, George got caught sneaking into his ex-girlfriend's window at 4 am by her dad, got into an argument, got into his Ford Explorer, and drove in circles on the lawn, leaving big holes. Jeb Jr., then 16, was caught in flagrante inside a Jeep Cherokee in a Tallahassee mall. Columba was busted also, for trying to smuggle $19,000 in goods past US Customs. No one knows if Jeb himself has been busted, since the Bush family makes a habit of scrubbing anything incriminating from their files. Of course Noelle's cousins, Jenna and Barbara, have been arrested, as has Uncle George - a 3-time arrestee. Noelle's crime is a 3rd degree felony, with a maximum prison term of 5 years. The $64,000 question is: will Noelle be the first Bush to serve time in prison - and lose her right to vote???

Neil Bush, brother of US President George Bush, told a Saudi Arabian audience that the distorted image of the Arab world could be removed through the sustained lobbying of US politicians. "The US media campaign against the interests of Arabs and Muslims and the American public opinion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict could be influenced through a sustained lobbying and PR effort," Bush, chairman and chief executive officer of Ignite! Inc., said in his keynote address on the concluding day of the three-day Jeddah Economic Forum. In the speech, he called for the root causes of terror to be explored. "There could be economic disparities, social unrest or unemployment causing growing dissatisfaction in the region. Grandfather Prescott Bush directed Nazi-financing front companies, which had their assets seized under the Trading with the Enemy Act in 1942. Chester Mierzejewski claimed in 1988 that pilot Bush Sr. bailed out of his plane early - when he could have landed it on the water without dooming his crewmen to their deaths. Sr. was 'in the loop' that armed our then-enemy Iran, while Contra supply chief Felix Rodriguez regularly reported to him. Sr. also covertly armed Saddam's military up to the Kuwaiti invasion, and left the American taxpayers holding $2 billion in defaulted Iraqi debt. Sr. invaded Panama to get his old partner Noriega. Jr. was AWOL from the National Guard. And don't forget the Bushes' business with the bin Ladens.

"Judicial Watch earlier this year had strongly criticized President Bush's father's association with the Carlyle Group, pointing out in a March 5 statement that it was a 'conflict of interest (which) could cause problems for America's foreign policy in Middle East and Asia.' Judicial Watch called for the senior Bush to resign from the firm then. This conflict of interest has now turned into a scandal. The idea of the President's father, an ex-president himself, doing business with a company under investigation by the FBI in the terror attacks of September 11 is horrible. President Bush should not ask, but demand, that his father pull out of the Carlyle Group,' stated Judicial Watch Chairman and General Counsel Larry Klayman. 'This has the potential of making 'Billygate' (Jimmy Carter's brother's dealings with Libya) look like small potatoes,' added Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton."

"Like his father a decade before, President Bush is mobilizing a worldwide coalition to help him roll back aggression — and his dad has been drafted as a key stealth operative in the diplomatic campaign. Laura Bush, says Sarah Wildman of the New Republic, "was deeply committed to her career as an educator...yet she left the classroom more than two decades ago without a backward glance. She is an intellectual-a voracious reader-yet she appears to have no dark, subversive, or even complex thoughts. She is totally fulfilled by her husband, although he seems uninterested in, or ignorant of, her intellectual and literary pursuits. She is passionate about education yet offers no opinions that don't shadow her husband's. She is the Play-Doh first lady: Mold her into whatever shape you want, then stamp her back down into a pile of putty for her next audience. Is it a pleasant existence? Probably not. It's certainly not an honest one."

We find it ever so interesting that every time Bush's agenda would be better leveraged by a "failing economy," suddenly, the Bears come out of the closet. Then, whenever things would be better tweaked by an "improving economy," the Bulls are sent into the ring. Now, just as his energy plan starts to play in a theaters near you - including the annoying slots on TV (wonder how much THAT cost?)- and his tax cut seems to be getting cool to bad reviews, suddenly, the headline reads "Economy Not As Strong As Should Be." But wait! Have no fear, your 300 buck will save us all! Not only that, but Bush will also put a chicken in every pot, in the form of cheap gas in every SUV, simply by following his great drill and guzzle energy plan. Ain't show biz grand?

Shrub himself signed the Texas law that called for a stiffer penalty for minors using fake ID's to purchase booze, bumping up the charge to a Class B, from a Class C charge. However, records on file in Austin Municipal Court show that just one person so far this year caught for this crime did NOT receive the new penalty. Her name: Jenna Bush. Shrub's boozy little princess received a Class C citation - despite the fact that it was her second offense within one month. When caught, she turned on the crocodile tears and whined about how unfair it was that she had been arrested. We might have had a TEENSY bit of sympathy had it been the first offense. Sob stories only play well first time around.

"Alcoholism is the social problem that this president best understands, and instead of slinking off into silence, [Bush] should provide a public example of what he has claimed parenting is all about. This is the time to talk honestly to his daughters and the nation about the lessons of substance abuse, and particularly, whether the tough law and order approach is just dumb. Unless, of course, he really believes that his daughter would benefit from six months behind bars for ordering yet another margarita. Maybe the drinking age should be dropped to 18 years old, as most of the Bush daughters' classmates seem to feel. Why make criminals of the young, most of whom are quite responsible in making their own decisions about when and what to drink? But isn't that even truer of an adult cancer patient who uses marijuana to ward off nausea?" So writes columnist Robert Scheer.

"The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission confirmed Thursday that Jenna Bush is listed in its database for an alcohol-related on Dec. 31, 1997. The database contains the names of people who have violated the Alcoholic Beverage Commission code, but commission officials would not say whether Jenna Bush's name appears for a citation, a warning or an administrative action... If arrested a third time, the offense is upgraded to a Class B misdemeanor, which carries a $2,000 fine and up to six months in jail. If a ticket was issued in 1997, it would not count as a third offense under Texas law because Jenna Bush would have been a 16-year-old minor at the time."

In 1997, then-Governor Bush signed the Texas law raising the drinking age to 21. The Texas law was coerced by the Republican Congress, which required states to adopt such laws to receive their Federal highway funds. Under Texas law, "A first offense can mean a 30-day driver's license suspension, a $500 fine, alcohol awareness classes and community service... A second conviction can lead to a 90-day driver's license suspension, and a third conviction can result in six months in jail." Jenna pled no contest to her first charge, and now faces a second. Barbara (and a friend) were also charged.

MSNBC columnist Eric Alterman dug up "a few quotes uttered in recent memory by national commentators on incidents involving the 'private life' of a president and his family." Read the denunciations of Bill Clinton by Bill Bennett, Cokie Roberts, Bill Kristol, Stuart Taylor, Jonathan Alter, and Mona Charen. Where are these moralists now? "Now might be a good time for politicians of all stripes to come to the aid of their country - and their profession - by informing the rest of us that their private lives are none of our business, period. Republicans might wish to offer a blanket apology for the unnecessary distractions they caused to the nation during the impeachment imbroglio, as well as the damage they did to our Constitution when they ignored this nostrum. Such a revolution, however, can only come from the top down. Well, Mr. President [sic], is your family’s business our business or not? Enquiring minds want to know." Bravo, Eric!

When Bill Clinton was President, Republicans stopped at nothing to shred his privacy. In fact, the gave Ken Starr $60 million and unlimited FBI resources to conduct the most monumental privacy violation in history, culminating in the pornographic "Starr Report." But now that Bush's family life is getting some minor press attention - driven by police reports, the staple of all news coverage - Republicans are insisting on an absolute privacy defense. Fleischer even threatened reporters: "I would urge all of you to very carefully think through how much you want to pursue this." Imagine the outrage if Clinton's White House spokesman had issued such a threat!

We could take Jenna and Barbara Bush to task for once again flaunting laws against drinking before 21 - but that would be wrong. Why? Because 18-year-old adults who can be sent off to war should be able to drink. Jenna & Barbara, tell your dad to change the law - we'll be there for you!

"Roth, at Fleischer's daily briefing, asked: 'Ari, the president talked about parental involvement today. How much has he talked to his own daughters about both drugs and drinking? And given the fact that his own daughter was cited for underage drinking, isn't that a sign that there's only so much effect that a parent can have on their children's behavior?' Fleischer responded brusquely: 'No, I think, frankly, there are some issues where I think it's very important for you all in the press corps to recognize that he is the president of the United States; he's also a father. And the press corps has been very respectful in the past of treating family matters with privacy, and I'm certain that you're going to do so again. I hope so.' Fleischer later called Roth to chastise him, telling him his question had been 'noted in the building.'" In the sad but true department: This week, Chelsea Clinton is trying to decide whether to accept a chance to attend Oxford University. Meanwhile, back at the Bush ranch, Jenna Bush has big decisions confronting her too - like what community service job she'll have to undertake to work off the consequences of her latest drunken binge. What does common sense tell us here? If the Clintons were such amoral sleazoids and the Bush's really were paragons of virtue, seems to me the daughterly shoes would be on the other feet!

19-year-old Jenna Bush "pleaded no contest Wednesday to a charge of being a minor in possession of alcohol, and must attend alcohol awareness classes. Jenna Bush was ordered to pay $51.25 in court costs, serve eight hours of community service and attend six hours of classes. The maximum penalty was a $500 fine and community service. If she does, her case will be dismissed and she can apply to have it expunged from her record once she turns 21, the judge said. Otherwise, a warrant could be issued for her arrest and her driver's license could be suspended." Jenna is definitely a chip off the old block - George was arrested twice while a student at Yale. His later arrests included a Maine DUI, and possibly a Texas DUI or drug arrest that resulted in community service at Project P.U.L.L. - but that was scrubbed from history when Bush was issued a brand new driver's license in 1995, allegedly for "security" reasons.

"You might call the lions of southern Africa potential Bush meat. The former American president, George Bush senior, and his old Gulf War ally, General 'Stormin' Norman' Schwarzkopf, are pleading with the government of Botswana to be allowed to revive their old alliance, this time in pursuit of Africa's endangered big cats. Mr. Bush is among prominent members of Safari Club International (SCI) who have written to the Botswanan authorities asking them to lift a ban slapped on trophy hunting of lions in February." What do you expect of Bush Sr.? He has always behaved like the world is just his big playground. The Bushes have no respect for anything, believing that they are entitled to whatever they can take - including the Election. Consider their history of actions - Nazi financing, arming Iran, arming Saddam Hussein, S&L lootings and partnering with Noriega. Despite their nice words, it's no surprise that they place no value on life either - be it animal or human.

"Bush's 19-year-old daughter, Jenna, was cited early Friday for alcohol possession by a minor, police said. The ticket was issued by Austin police who were checking for minors in possession of alcohol at nightclubs along the city’s popular East Sixth Street... Underage drinking was a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $200 or community service, as determined by the court. Jenna Bush’s court appearance date was set for May 2, according to the citation. She is a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin."

"Is it just me, or is the Bush Brother's Family Feud starting to resemble a professional wrestling match? Nowhere but in the infamous "squared circle" could a battle be so delightfully tawdry, so ratings-driven, and well, so scripted. I am referring, of course, to Bush vs. Bush, the featured match in Florida Slam 2001. The title at stake, if you can believe this, is the United States Environmental Champion, and the winner will be determined by digging holes, or by preventing the other guy from digging holes, depending on how you look at it." It matters because all Dubya ran on was his family name and a carefully crafted set of campaign platitudes. Meanwhile the media helped cover up his terrible Texas record, his failed business dealings and his own closeted skeletons (including AWOL) - and then spun the debates grossly in his favor. It matters because Dubya rose to power through his family network that was first established by Prescott. It matters because had Prescott been exposed as a traitor, it might have ended his and his family's political aspirations. We might have been spared their many criminal and traitorous actions through the years – including the election theft. It matters because the Bushes have continued to 'build coalitions' with fascists and old Nazis – including those in the '88 campaign. It matters because the victims of Nazism are owed the truth about the Nazi collaborators. It matters because the Bushes should no longer get away with their fraudulent patrician image – since without it they are nothing but America's WASP Corleones, as Maureen Dowd has written.

In early April, an irreverent student publication at Yale called "The Rumpus" published an account of two episodes when Barbara Bush's secret service detail lost track of her. A few days later, the Rumpus editors were hauled before Dean of Student Affairs Betty Trachtenberg. Immediately following the meeting, the article was scrubbed. Conservatives made a federal case for decades about the abuse of Yale's "free speech" policy following protests against racist theorist William Shockley in 1974, but have not uttered a word in protest over this gross violation.

Barbara Bush is a Yale freshman, who recently had her phony ID confiscated at a local hangout. According to a friend, Barbara was angry over the incident. Now that doesn't sound like the kind of reaction we would expect from a member of a family that claims to be about "honor and dignity." Rather than expressing embarrassment, Barbara behaved like a petulant little princess. Jeez, you’d think her dad had stole the White House or something. Like Jenna, Barbara has a reputation as a party girl. Their Daddy has quite a reputation as well, including a few DUI arrests – just like Jenna's boyfriend that she bailed out with the help of the Secret Service. Will the Bush girls need to have new driver's licenses and clean records created just like George and Laura did in 1995? (See "What is George W. Hiding?" at "onlinejournal.com") Jeb’s kids are likewise carrying on in the proud Bush tradition (Enter "Jebby" in our "Compass" search engine to read about Jebby and George P.’s arrest records).

"…Prescott Bush [Jr.]…arrived…in Beijing for a banquet hosted by China’s vice minister of civil affairs. Bush, chairman of the U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce, had just arrived in the country as part of an American business delegation…But instead… the Chinese vice minister didn’t show up…because tensions were escalating over the spy-plane incident." Like a bunch of marauding pirates, the Bushes have long double dealed in doing foreign policy one way and "bidness" completely opposite. For starters, Prescott Jr. went to China to close some deals right after brother George Sr. issued economic sanctions against China for the Tienanmen Square abuses. While Vice President and President, George Sr. himself was "in the loop" of Iran-Contra and covertly armed Iraq. Their father Prescott Sr. led this family tradition by financing Nazi industrialists, until his companies' assets were seized under the Trading with the Enemy Act in 1942. Our troops were just days away from fighting the Germans.

"Should Jenna Bush, the 19-year-old daughter of the president, be in jail? Or at least be arrested? That's a conclusion to be drawn from a recent report in the National Enquirer that asserts she smokes marijuana. After all, some 600,000 Americans are arrested every year for marijuana possession -- including about 13,000 teenage girls." So writes James Pinkerton, the long-forgotten inventor of Bush I's "new paradigm."

What was Laura Bush's reaction to the protesters who greeted her in California? "She acknowledged with polite curiosity the small bands of demonstrators who chanted that her husband stole the election, employing the same unruffled tone she used to admire birds of paradise blooming along the roadway. 'Oh look, there are some protesters.'" So reports the Los Angeles Times.

Massive budget deficits seem to be a defining trait of the Bush family. Bush the Smarter helped raise the national debt from $1 trillion to $5 trillion. Bush the Dumber left a massive hole in the Texas budget, fleeing to Washington just ahead of the bill collectors. Bush the Goner (Jeb) has to face the music for a $1 billion Medicaid miscalculation. The CDC needs to add "Bush in Budget Disease" to its list of highly dangerous and contagious diseases.

Earlier this year, the National Enquirer warned us: "Get Ready, America! Here Comes George W.'s Wild Daughter." Above a photo of Jenna falling drunk on top of a girlfriend, the Enquirer wrote: "Pals say she's a hard-drinking party animal who even winds up like this!" (Scroll down to see the photo.)

White House officials tried to deny that Jenna was at the party, and the photo of Jenna was mysteriously removed after being posted for several days. White House spokeswoman Claire Buchan said the Bush administration had nothing to do with the picture's removal. "To my knowledge, there was no contact of any kind" with the photo company, she said Friday. Buchan is lying - we demand an investigation!

Oh, of course it's okay to break the "rule of law" if you know the Bushes. Heck, they'll even send the Secret Service over, at taxpayer expense, to bail you out of jail. Especially if you're drunk as a skunk - a proud Bush tradition. Ain't it grand to know people in high places?

Why, it's an outrage! In his final days in office the president pardoned a former Cabinet official who could have implicated the president himself in treasonous crimes against the United States, and an assistant secretary of state who deliberately misled Congress, and a CIA official who lied to it, and a heroin smuggler with 47 years left on his sentence. The president? Some guy named George Bush.

A few weeks ago, Laura Bush told the truth - she's pro-choice. As a result, she seems to have been exiled to Texas. According to the ever-unreliable Ari Fleischer, she sent George a "heart-shaped coconut cream pie" for Valentine's Day. If that wins her a trip back to her rightful home, we may try that ourselves.

As the Bushes settle in as our "First Family," new information is finding its way into public view. Back in 1963, Laura Bush - then Laura Welch, a high school senior - ran a stop sign in her new Chevrolet and struck a Chevrolet Corvair driven by classmate Michael Douglas. Neither was drinking, the weather was clear, and no citations were issued, according to the report. Police listed two violations as contributing to the accident, both by Mrs. Bush. One checked box read "disregard stop sign or light," and the other was illegible. Laura Bush recently told reporters, "I was 17. . . . It was terrible for everyone involved. I know this as an adult, and even more as a parent, it was crushing . . . for the family involved and for me as well."
